City of De Pere
First incorporated in 1883, De Pere is located directly on the Fox River just south of Green Bay. The city offers its nearly 21,000 residents a variety of small town diversity with its small town shops, parks and historical landmarks.
The bustling downtown shopping district is balanced by more than 282 acres of parks and green space, including two outdoor swimming pools, three boat launch facilities and a community center.
De Pere is the only city in Wisconsin with two school districts, offering residents options for both public and private schools.
There are 9 public schools, from kindergarten through 12, including two high schools and one county-run school which handles children with special needs. There are also 3 Catholic elementary schools as well as St. Norbert College, a Catholic Liberal Arts and Sciences school, founded by Abbot Bernard Pennings and the Norbertine community.
The City is split by the Fox River which provides many recreational opportunities for fishing, boating, water skiiing and ice fishing in the winter. Along the river runs the Fox River Trail passing through Voyageur Park. The trail is used frequently for walking, hiking, roller-blading and cycling.
